Episode 95: Walt Disney World Oldies But Goodies

Ear To There Podcast, Ear To There Disney Podcast, Disney World, Walt Disney World, Original Attractions, Episode 95, WDW

Welcome to This Weeks Show!

In Walt Disney World, the headliners get all of the attention. Attractions like Space Mountain and restaurants like Be Our Guest are always the first places where people like me will tell you to go while in the park. This week I wanted to focus a little more on the things that have been around for quite a while but are still fantastic on Episode 95: Walt Disney World Oldies But Goodies.

I have a secret: It's not always the newest attractions and restaurants in WDW that are the most memorable experiences. We'll clue you in on the places in WDW that are true Disney Classics!

I have two comments about the podcast. The first is a funny story about Hoop Dee Doo Review. In 2006 we took my oldest son who was 2 at the time to Disneyworld. He was big time into The Wiggles at the time. We boarded a very chilly boat ride to go to the Hoop Dee Doo Review. The whole boat ride I was clowning around singing “Hoop Dee Doo” by the Wiggles. My wife continuously told me to stop and that they wouldn’t sing that song. So we arrive and low and behold, they sing the song. I have been slightly ragging on her ever since about that memory.
My other comment is on Journey into Imagination. My family loves this ride but one reason my older boys do is its nods to Live Action old school Disney movies, specifically the Dexter Riley Movies (the Kurt Russell character in the movies the computer wore tennis shoes, Now You See Him, Now You Don’t, and the World’s Strongest Man) and the Absent Minded Professor. What is cool about those movies is that they are in the same universe, the both take place at Medfield College. One nod, is when you see the tennis shoes outside of the computer room with Dexter Riley’s letterman jacket (a nod to The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes). Anyway, I am ranting but wanted to mention them. Keep up the awesome podcast.
