We all know that there are a few things that the Disney Company really loves: story, trends, and money. All three of these elements will come together in late 2018 when the Magic Kingdom debuts an all new attraction: Maui’s Enchanted Tiki Room! Yes, that’s right, the Walt Disney-inspired attraction the Enchanted Tiki Room is getting a Moana makeover!
In this all-new, permanent attraction, Maui, the demigod will descend from the Tiki Room ceiling and interrupt the hosts of the classic Walt Disney World show. Many of the old, dated songs will be removed and music from Disney’s latest smash hit will be added in their place. As a grand finale to the attraction, Moana herself will walk through the room singing the song “How Far I’ll Go.”
While Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room was changed once before to the universally-hated “Under New Management” show featuring Iago and Zazu, Walt Disney Imagineering is confident that this show will last and that guests will be enjoying the songs and jokes of Moana for decades. When asked about the change, Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde simply replied, “You’re welcome!”
If you’d still like to see the original story of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, it will remain open until August 1st of 2017.
