This time of year we should all just sit back for a moment and realize how lucky we truly are. For most of you out there reading this, you’re on your smartphone, iPad or other tablet, or a computer. That means you more than likely have a roof over your head and something to eat every day. I am so thankful for what I have and I also realize how lucky I truly am to be doing something that I love for a living and how lucky I am to have Disney fans that will read what I write and even recommend these blog posts to other Disney fans. Thank you all very, very much for taking the time to read these blog posts. I really appreciate your time and honestly if there is anything I can do for you, any help or advice (even if you’re not a client or booking a trip with me) please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me! Give me a call, send me an email or a text or a message on social media, and I promise I will get right back to you!
So today’s blog post is going to be a little bit different. I started writing my blog because I was inspired by a few of the countless Disney blogs and podcasts out there that I was a faithful listener or reader of. I hope you give these fellow Disney enthusiasts a chance so you can experience what I experienced: true Disney fans who are looking to help you enhance your Disney vacation experience both at home and while on your Disney vacations. Here, in no particular order, are my Favorite Disney Podcasts & Blogs.
World Of Walt – Let’s get the obvious one out of the way first! Herb over at the World Of Walt consistently does a fantastic job on his podcast and on the articles available on his site. The site is constantly updated with new information, he releases a podcast every week, and he is constantly interacting with and responding to his loyal readers and listeners. Herb has a “Top Six” format to his podcasts and they are always informative, helpful, and a lot of fun, (especially that last one that I was a guest on!) If you haven’t had the chance, please head on over to the World Of Walt but be prepared to lose a lot of time once you click on that site since there are tons of helpful Disney articles and tips that you can put to use on your next (or first) trip to Walt Disney World!
Disney Food Blog – First things first, DO NOT go to this site if you are hungry at all or you will be breaking out your Walt Disney World cookbooks to whip up what you see listed and reviewed on this blog. Eat a big meal and then click on over to check out some awesome reviews by AJ Wolfe and her team. The food photos are fantastic and the reviews of the restaurants and food really give you a sense of being there and enjoying the meal with the blog writers. Also, if you’re on one of the Disney Dining Plans, they often break down the credits for each item so the blog also can be used as a helpful planning tool for your next Disney trip. I’m headed down to WDW with my family for the 2016 Marathon Weekend, and I know I’ve been checking out the Disney Food Blog frequently to see how I’m going to replace all of those calories I burn during the Dopey Challenge!
Imagineering Disney – I have a passion for anything related to Disneyland and Walt Disney World nostalgia, especially from the early days of the parks. The folks over at Imagineering Disney are former Disney cast members and Imagineers and run a fantastic and extremely interesting blog and site. From miniature model projects to photo tours of the parks from the 50s and 60s, this site and it’s blog is home to some of my favorite ever articles written about the history of the Disney theme parks. They also offer some vintage-looking original artwork and t-shirts for purchase that would make the top of any true Disney nostalgic’s Christmas or birthday present list!
WDW Radio – The grandaddy of all the Disney Podcasts out there is Lou Mongello’s WDW Radio. The site is fantastic and all of the blog writers do a wonderful job with their unique and extremely helpful posts and topics. The driving force behind the site, however, is Lou’s award-winning podcast. He constantly comes up with fun topics for him and his guests to talk about, has very helpful Disney restaurant reviews (again, don’t listen when hungry!), and his Top Ten Lists with Tim Foster from Celebrations Magazine are some of the funniest and interesting shows out there in the podcast universe. He has also been lucky enough to interview some of the all-time Disney legends, including: Julie Andrews, Mary Blair, Marty Sklar, Bob Gurr, and Tony Baxter. If you’re a big Disney fan like me, trust me, you’ll enjoy your weekly dose of WDW Radio!
These are just a few of the TONS of Disney-related blogs and podcasts out there. I’d really encourage you to give them a shot (after you’re finished reading THIS blog, of course!) and please let me know what your thoughts are once you read or listen. Thank you so much for reading this post and every post and please feel free to comment here on this post, send me a Facebook message HERE, tweet me HERE or send me an email at phil@eartotheretravel.com. Thanks again, and please enjoy the rest of your stay here at Ear To There Travel!
