What Sets Disney Cruise Lines Apart From Other Cruise Lines?
When choosing which cruise line to travel with, Disney Cruise Line stands head and shoulders above the competition.
When I asked our travel planners why someone should choose a Disney cruise, here’s what Amy had to say…
I want anyone who is considering a DCL cruise to know that they cannot go wrong. Whether you’re traveling as a family with children or without children, there is something to appeal to everyone! Also, Disney Cruise Line doesn’t nickel and dime their guests the way that many other cruise lines do. Many, many things are included in a Disney cruise.
AMY BOLT
Another one of our agents, Heather, echoes this sentiment…
If you are considering a Disney cruise you should know that you get what you pay for. So much is already included in a Disney cruise that you have to pay extra for on other cruise lines or schedule separately on other cruise lines. Disney makes it easy and their service is always a step above.
HEATHER TOMASEK
The cost of a Disney cruise is a bit higher than some other cruise lines, but – as another of our amazing travel planners Katie shares…
It’s absolutely worth it to pay a bit more for the theming and Disney service. The kids clubs are also absolutely magical. I wish I was a kid so I could spend time in there!
KATIE NEU
Obviously, the cost of a Disney cruise is a consideration as well as the specifics of what’s included in a Disney cruise. But our travel planners can help you book the perfect vacation for you, built around your personal budget and taking advantage of any and all current Disney Deals.
Which Is The Best Disney Cruise Ship?
We should start by saying that every Disney cruise ship is special, primarily because they’re staffed with the most incredible cast members dedicated to making your nautical holiday wonderful.
Second to the exceptional Disney service that comes standard on every Disney cruise, the ships are all beautifully designed and maintained with the magical theming you’ve come to expect from Disney.
While many long-time cruise fans excitedly anticipate cruising each new ship that Disney adds to the fleet, our agents have a soft spot for some of the older ships in the fleet.
I like the Dream or Fantasy. They are sister ships and have a great layout. It isn’t overwhelming to find your way around.
RACHEL BARON
My favorite ship is the Disney Magic. Even though she is smaller and older than other ships, she is every bit as beautiful and her size allows for a more comfortable, intimate feel.
AMY BOLT
You can do a little more research into the differences between the Disney cruise ships here or get in touch with us and we can make recommendations based on what’s most important to you and your travel companions.
What’s The Best Disney Cruise Destination?
While there are numerous Disney cruise destinations around the world, including Alaska cruises and river cruises through Europe, our agents all agree that – if this is your first cruise – an itinerary that stops at Disney’s private island in the Bahamas is a must.
The best itinerary is any itinerary with stops at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, pronounced, “key.” It’s got to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet!
AMY BOLT
If this is a client’s first cruise ever or first Disney cruise I would suggest a 3 or 4 night cruise that makes a stop at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. That way you can make sure you enjoy cruising or cruising with Disney (you will!) before booking a longer cruise.
KATIE NEU
Another consideration as you select your itinerary are Disney’s specialty cruises, many of which also visit Castaway Cay. If you have a Marvel or Star Wars fan in the family or want to partake in a Disney cruise for Halloween or Christmas, make sure you consider itineraries that include Disney Cruise Line’s special events.
Or, as Jen Allen suggests, reach out to us. We can help you make sure you take advantage of all the magic to be had on the high seas!
Here is Jen’s take on the best ship and travel itinerary…
I do not have a favorite ship or itinerary as each provides an amazing adventure. If someone is starting their research for a cruise holiday, I would tell them to contact their travel planner at Ear To There and have the travel expert help them decide on the best trip for them and then do all the travel planning work!

Important Things To Consider When Booking Your Disney Cruise
Beyond which Disney Cruise Line ship you’d like to set sail on and which destination you’d like it to take you to, there are other considerations that will ensure smooth sailing you as you book your amazing adventure on the high seas.
Our Disney travel planners have lots of travel tips to help you make the most of your Disney cruise, but here are a few more things to consider before booking your trip.
Always arrive a day early. So many people miss getting on their ship because of delayed or canceled flights.

Buy the photo package. It’s worth it!
HEATHER TOMASEK
My best tip for booking your Disney cruise is to work with a Disney-focused travel agent, like us, who can guide you through the ins and outs of which ports are best and what needs to be booked in advance. Definitely book as much as you can in advance, like port adventures, special adult dining, and onboard activities. That way your cruise feels even more all inclusive!
